
Thomas George Albers Sr of Geneva, FL passed peacefully on December 5,
2024.
Born March 18, 1935 to Elmer Joseph Albers and Mary Veronica Stuhlmueller Albers
in Cincinnati, Oh. On June 30, 1956, he married his high school sweetheart, Jean
Audrey Klayer. They were married for 52 years until her death in 2008.
He is survived by Gayle Albers Sweeney (daughter), Thomas George Albers Jr
(son), Aime Albers Ruedlinger (daughter), Ten Grandchildren and 9 Great
Grandchildren. Predeceased by Michael Walter Albers (son).
Tom graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in Architecture. He
designed multiple award-winning buildings in downtown Cincinnati, and opened his
own firm – Space Design. He also held a private airline pilot license. Near the end of
his career, he became a Forensic Consultant and Expert Witness on many projects
throughout the State of Florida.
The family moved to Longwood Florida in 1971 to be part of the Central Florida
boom created by the opening of Walt Disney World. Some of Tom’s work can be
seen in office parks in Maitland and Longwood Florida, and in the four homes he
designed and built for his family.
His favorite things include Jazz Music (especially Dave Brubeck, Sports Cars, Grilled
Salmon, his Grandkids and Great Grandkids, Photography, Miniature Schnauzers,
Travel, Golf, Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, Charley Harper artwork.
