Terry Keelan, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 7, 2024, in Winter Springs, Florida. Born on October 5, 1940, to the late Harold and Esther Keelan in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Terry was a long-time resident of the Tanglewood Community in Sebring, Florida. There, he was a devoted member of the Tanglewood Community Church, serving as an Usher during services.
Terry dedicated nearly 30 years to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department before retiring as a Sergeant in 1997. Following his retirement, he and his wife, Vicky, moved to Cape Coral, Florida, where they enjoyed a vibrant life filled with sailing, boating, collecting shells, and golfing. Terry was a passionate golfer, participating in numerous golf outings, and also cherished time spent with his grandkids, engaging in arts and crafts and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Keelan, and his grandson, David Todd Jr. Terry is survived by his son, Jeffrey Keelan (Jodi) of Lawton, Mi; his stepchildren, David Todd (Josie) of Las Vegas, NV, and Sarah Hill (Isaac) of Orlando, FL.; his grandchildren, Isaac Jr., Samarah, and Victoria Hill of Orlando, FL; Chantel Ford (Mike) of Fort Polk, LA; Cory Keelan of Lawton, Mi; and his brothers, Denny Keelan (Sandy) of Dallas, TX, and Doug Keelan (JoAnn) of Charlotte, NC. He is also survived by a number of family and friends who will dearly miss him.
Terry’s legacy of helping others, being a role model, his love for family, and dedication to his hobbies, will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.
