Romayne Elizabeth Kishpaugh-Haag
Romayne Elizabeth passed away February 11, 2022 at the Wayman Place in Longwood, FL at the age of 96 of natural causes. She was born to Gideon and Alice Sloat in Johnson City, NY.
She developed a beautiful soprano voice and played the clarinet in High School. Romayne sang both at Johnson City High School and Sara Jane Methodist Church. She sang with the All-State Mixed Chorus in1942. She sang with the B.C. Pops in Binghamton, NY. Romayne married Harold Kishpaugh on 1946 the year after he returned from WWII. She is survived by her daughter Karen and her husband Philip Gold and preceded in death by both her son Frank and his wife Lynn Kishpaugh. Romayne has four Grandchildren Alycia Gold, Scott Gold, Frank and Kelly Kishpaugh, and two Great Grandchildren twins Breanna and Taylor Jones. Romayne taught and directed the Church’s Children’s Choir from 1952 for 18 years until moving to Florida. She started a choir in Sanford eventually settling in Leesburg, FL in 1988. She then started and directed the Lakes of Leesburg Choir until 2005 doing two productions a year.
She made floral arrangements at Dillenbeck’s Florist and Riverside Florist in Johnson City for many years, continuing it as a hobby in Leesburg. She was a fairly good golfer too. After Harold passed away she married Harry Haag a golf buddy.
