February 20, 1934 - July 7, 2023
This is the story of Rena Elizabeth (McCabe) Catherman. Rena (Betty) was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed and will always be cherished. Our “Gram” as she liked to be called by her grandchildren, was an amazing mom, grandmother and friend to many.
Rena’s story starts on February 20, 1934, the youngest child to Lillian Wainman and Edward McCabe. Rena was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and joined the Air Force at the age of 18. She was a lifetime member of the VFW.
Rena was a great listener and anyone that had a problem or needed someone to be on their side, knew they could call Rena. Rena would give up everything she had to help someone in need. She was self-sacrificing, never thinking about herself.
Rena lived in N.Y. and PA for years before moving permanently to Florida 10 years ago. She loved the year round sunshine and warmth.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Rena are her father Edward J. McCabe, her mother Lillian May Wainman, her brothers Lloyd and Willam McCabe and her daughter Mary Ann (Kahl) Feltman. Loved ones that will miss Rena until they meet again are her son and daughter in law Steve Murray and Dauna Murray, her daughter and son in law Diana Davenport and Westbrook (Brook) Davenport, her son in law Herb Feltman, her daughters April DeHart and Tarita Catherman, her 13 grandchildren and her 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
And so the story goes on until we see our Gram and Mom again. We love you and miss you Mom.
A Celebration of Rena’s Life will be held in October (exact date to be announced later) at 135 Snow Valley Way, Chuluota, FL. 32766 where Rena resided for the last 10 years.
We know many have memories and stories to share of Rena and how she impacted your lives.
