On the afternoon of February 10, 2026, Maximo Peralta passed away
peacefully, with extraordinary grace and dignity, in Oviedo, Florida. He
was born on March 20, 1938, in Santiago Rodríguez, Dominican
Republic, to Rosa Olivia Toribio (Morena) and Pedro Antonio Peralta
(Aquile). Maximo grew up on a farm in the coastal town of Nagua,
Dominican Republic.
Maximo met Dignora Torres through mutual friends in Villa Elisa,
Dominican Republic. They were married on July 25, 1970, beginning a
devoted partnership that spanned 56 years.
In 1979, at the age of forty-one, driven by courage and determination, Maximo moved to
Manhattan, New York, in pursuit of better opportunities for his family. He worked as a heavy
construction machinery auto mechanic for Migoya Construction in New York City. Through hard
work and perseverance, he eventually owned his own auto mechanic shop in New York City.
With dedication and tireless effort, he built a stable foundation and later brought his family to join
him, fulfilling his promise of a brighter future.
Maximo was the heart of his family—kind, caring, and endlessly hardworking. He believed that
no task was too small to be done with excellence and that kindness should always be
accompanied by a smile. He did not just speak these values; he modeled them every day.
He is survived by his partner, Dignora Torres; his children: Kirsy Sosa, Harold Peralta, Madeline
Julian, Marlene Cepeda, Maximo Peralta (Patico), and Eusebio Peralta (Tutina); and his
cherished grandchildren: Shaena and Jaron Peralta; Kenneth, Jeremy, and Noely Sosa; Marlyse
and Madyson Cepeda; Max and Myles Julian; Solanyi, Solenny, Anibal, Cristopher, and
Jenipher Peralta; and Dionisio and Ederlyn Peralta. He is also survived by his siblings: Lala,
Grillo, Victor, and Kenia Peralta.
Maximo was preceded in death by his brothers Ramito, Ciprian, and Rafael Peralta; Santiago
Toribio; and his sisters, Luz Peralta and Marina Toribio.
Maximo’s legacy is one of love, resilience, generosity, and strength. He leaves behind a family
forever grateful for his guidance, his sacrifices, and the countless lessons he taught simply by
example. His smile, kindness, and steady presence will live on in every life he touche
