Celebrating the Life of Marjorie Elnora Mosley
Marjorie Elnora Mosley, affectionately known to all as “Margie,” passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, in Orlando, Florida, at the age of 74. She leaves behind a profound legacy of fierce independence, protective love, and a lifetime dedicated to the service of others.
A Life of Healing and Leadership
Born in Columbus, Ohio, on August 3, 1951, Margie grew up in Cincinnati, where she discovered her lifelong calling to care for others. After graduating from Withrow High School in 1969, she began her distinguished nursing career by earning her RN Diploma from the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in 1983. Driven by a deep intelligence and a passion for her field, she continued her education while working, ultimately obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Florida Southern College in 1997 and a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University in 2007.
Margie’s career was as vast as it was impactful. Her independent spirit shone brightly during her years as a travel nurse, taking her vital skills to premier medical institutions across the country, including MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Beth Israel Hospital in New York, and North Side Hospital in Atlanta. For nearly two decades, she served with distinction at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist and Clinical Nurse Specialist, guiding the next generation of caregivers. Locally in Florida, she touched countless lives as a manager at Orlando Regional Medical Center and as a Director of Nursing in Winter Park. Margie specialized in oncology, critical care, and end-of-life training—areas of medicine that require the unique blend of exceptional skill, loyalty, and fierce protection that defined her personality.
A Mother's Heart
Beyond her many professional accolades and initials behind her name, Margie’s greatest joy was her family. She was a woman of immense kindness, known for a wonderfully stubborn streak that usually meant she was standing up for someone she loved. She was viewed as a foundational mother figure not just to her own children, but to many extended family members, colleagues, and friends who crossed her path.
Margie loved the simple pleasures of life: getting lost in a good book, exploring new places through travel, and championing the good causes she held dear. Above all, she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, William Douglas Mosley Jr. and Marjorie Celestine Mosley (nee Nesbitt); her brothers, William "Billy" Mosley III and Robert "Bobby" Mosley; her first husband, Scott Stargel; and her beloved fourth fur child, Choclate.
Margie's love and spirit will live on through her husband, Percy Edwin Hill; her three sons and daughters-in-laws, David & Tisha Stargel, Brian Stargel and Carleton & Crystal Stargel; and her grandchildren Sydney, Kaya, Tyler, Jadyn, Charles, Andrew, and Alexander. She is also survived by her siblings, Walter, Carrie, Howard, and Charles, alongside a host of numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her guidance and warmth daily.
Memorial and Donations
A memorial service to celebrate Margie’s incredible life and legacy is currently being planned in Orlando, Florida. Details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, and to honor Margie’s lifelong heart for helping others, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Compassion International, an organization close to her heart.
