Marc Anthony Felix was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1971. A first generation Trinidadian American, he had a knack for deftly navigating across cultural lines. Growing up, Marc made life-long friends from Flatbush to Bensonhurst. He was proud of his roots in indigenous Arawak, African, and East Indian cultures and passed that pride to his son, Elishyah. From the start, Marc was a dedicated father – blending his parent’s traditions with his own modern New York sensibilities. Elishyah learned to hold a drill at just three years old under Marc’s watchful guidance and went on to learn trades at his father’s side as a young adult. Marc was a self made master craftsmen who excelled early on in home building and then shifted to classic car restoration. Marc’s restoration shop, MAFWerks, was beloved by classic car owners throughout Florida. His restorations featured impeccable finishes and custom fabrications with keen attention to original bodywork design. Above all, Marc was an audiophile who loved everything from house to funk to classic rock and alternative. His music collection is an endless library of modern music’s greatest artists. His enduring strength and fight showed through in his life and his battle with terminal cancer. Despite extreme pain and repeated setbacks, he lived life fiercely in his final year, committed to having as much time as possible no matter the difficulties. He passed away on August 30, 2025. Marc is survived by his son, Elishyah Hosien, coparent Bahíyyah Maroon, his sister and brother in-law Charmaine Krise and Kevin Krise, his sisters Faye McKnight, Patricia Felix, and Jennifer Revette, as well as his eleven nieces and nephews.
