Obituary for Mandy Martin

Mandy Nichole (Parent) Martin of Apopka, Florida sadly passed away unexpectedly on February 21, 2025 at her residence. Mandy was only 49 years young and the family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death.

Mandy was the cherished daughter of Cathy (George) Debski, Gregg (Sandy) Parent, and step sister of Wendy (Marvin) Basch, and was preceded in death by her loving husband Bryan. She leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, her niece Chloe, and countless friends who will miss her dearly.

Born on March 20, 1975 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Cathy (Nelson) Parent and Gregg Parent. After graduating high school, Mandy moved to Florida and it is there where she met her soulmate Bryan while the two were working together at Golfpac Travel. Working in the industry is where Mandy developed her love for golf. While she herself did not golf, she was very supportive of Bryan who was an avid golfer and teacher of the game. Mandy and Bryan married, purchased their forever dream home in Apopka, Florida and spent 16 happy years there until his untimely death in September 2023.

“Her passions were many” one of her best friends said; “when she was passionate about something it was so intense that it felt as if she would pull others into her enthusiasm.” She was an avid music lover, but her favorite band by far was New Kids On The Block. From the time they hit the scene in the late 1980’s until the time of her passing she was their number one fan. Growing up her bedroom was always adorned with posters of the group, and she attended many of their concerts. Her favorite member of the boy band was one of the lead vocalists, Donnie Wahlberg. Mandy would tell people that she was going to be the next Mrs. Donnie Wahlberg, and when the Wahlberg family opened one of their restaurants in Florida she would frequent the restaurant hoping for a chance meeting. Mandy had a talent for cooking and was always in the kitchen trying to create new recipes she found on the internet or in magazines. She had many good friends that were like family to her. Zaklina said Mandy was the kind of friend you seek. With a heart of gold, never judgmental, always there like a beacon of light in the darkest nights!

Days will pass and even years but we will always remember you with silent tears. Mandy’s smile, love and laughter will live on in all of those who were blessed to know her.

Please join us for a Celebration of Life as we gather together to remember Mandy who will be greatly missed.
