Beloved mother, daughter, sister, lover, and friend, Katharine Diane Baker Newborn, was born March 22, 1958 in Atlanta GA to Jeff and Helen Baker. Kathy gloriously went to be with the loved ones who preceded her on April 8, 2020 in her adopted home of Sanford Fl.
An avid volunteer and philanthropist, Kathy dedicated her life to provide care and support to her loved ones, the less fortunate, the underserved, and the disadvantaged. Kathy was a board member of the Sanford Woman’s Club, a member of The Ladies 327s, and a board member of Sanford Pride. Kathy is survived by her daughters Kelli Waring of Gainesville FL, Amanda Griffis of Brooker FL, Rebecca White of Gainesville FL, mother Helen Baker of Hampton FL, brothers Jeffery Baker of Hampton FL, Dean “Dink” Baker of Graham FL, Charlie Baker of Graham FL, sister Ann Davis of Hampton FL, grand children Julie, Alaina, Logan, RJ, partner Peter Bullock of Sanford FL, and a vast number of friends and relatives touched by her kindness and generosity. Kathy will always live on in our hearts and minds and be remembered for her warm and sunny personality and her ability to uplift those around her.
Memorials to be held in Sanford and Hampton will be announced at a later date. A charitable trust will also be announced where donations may be sent in lieu of flowers.
