It is with deepest regret, that we announce the passing of Juan Bautista Barranco
Carrillo at the young age of 92. After a courageous battle with cancer, Juan died
peacefully at home February 22, 2025. Born August 9, 1932 to Maria Carrillo and Juan
Barranco in El Cerro de San Antonio, Colombia, Juan lived a simple and humble life. At
the tender age of 9, following the passing of his mother, he began his adulthood as a
courier for the local government. On 27 July, 1958, Juan married Otilia Barranco. They
had seven kids together: Rodolfo, Xiomara, Maribel, Juan Jr, Mayra, Liliana, and
Carlos, and thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. After working hard for
a number of years, he fulfilled one of his dreams and became a successful business
owner. In 1969, an opportunity arose to legally immigrated to the US and achieve the
American dream. By 1976, the Barranco family completely moved to the US. Juan
worked 2 full times jobs for 10 years, as a Janitor at Mary Immaculate Hospital and as a
Kitchen Utility worker at Sky Chefs. He later transitioned to a building Superintendent
where he retired after 20 years. In 2001, at the age of 69, he retired and relocated to
Orlando, FL where he lived out the rest of his life. A fiery and kind spirit, full of life and
energy, with unrivaled dancing talents, Juan sadly left Earth February 22, 2025.

Con profundo pesar anunciamos el fallecimiento de Juan Bautista Barranco
Carrillo a la temprana edad de 92 años. Después de una valiente batalla contra el
cáncer, Juan falleció pacíficamente en su casa el 22 de febrero de 2025. Nacido el 9 de
agosto de 1932, hijo de María Carrillo y Juan Barranco en El Cerro de San Antonio,
Colombia, Juan vivió una vida sencilla y humilde. A la tierna edad de 9 años, tras el
fallecimiento de su madre, comenzó su vida adulta como mensajero para el gobierno
local. El 27 de julio de 1958, Juan se casó con Otilia Barranco Ariza. Tuvieron siete
hijos juntos: Rodolfo, Xiomara, Maribel, Juan Jr., Mayra, Liliana y Carlos, trece nietos y
cuatro bisnietos. Después de trabajar duro durante varios años, cumplió uno de sus
sueños y se convirtió en un exitoso empresario. En 1969, surgió la oportunidad de
inmigrar legalmente a los EE. UU. y lograr el sueño americano. En 1976, la familia
Barranco se mudó por completo a los EE. UU. Juan trabajó en dos empleos de tiempo
completo durante 10 años, como Conserje en el Hospital Mary Immaculate y como
Trabajador de Servicios de Cocina en Sky Chefs. Más tarde pasó a ser superintendente
de edificios, donde se jubiló después de 20 años. En 2001, a la edad de 69 años, se
jubiló y se trasladó a Orlando, Florida, donde vivió el resto de su vida. Un espíritu
fogoso y amable, lleno de vida y energía, con un talento inigualable para el baile, Juan
dejó tristemente la tierra el 22 de Febrero de 2025.
