Janice Louise Berg Teri-Savage, RN
On June 20, 1952, Janice Louise Berg was born to William and Doris Berg; she was the youngest of four children. Janice was born in Hartford, CT, and grew up in Collinsville., CT. In 1969, Janice and George William Teri-Savage III were married. There were four beautiful children born to this union.
Janice always had a passion for caring for others. As a teenager she was a Candy Striper, as a young adult she worked as; a Die- tary Aide, Certified Nurse’s Aide (CNA) and Home Health Aide (HHA). She also, worked in Long Term Care (LTC) and Hospice Care for many years before pursuing her degree in Nursing.
On August 24, 1989 Janice received an Associate Degree in Nursing from Hartford Community College, Hartford, CT.
Janice and George were married for over 20 years before the union ended in divorce. After the divorce Janice and the two youngest children moved to Deltona, FL, where she would make it her home.
Once established in Deltona, FL, Janice continued her nurs- ing career as Director of Nursing at Bowman's Nursing Home and Director of Nursing at Mariner Health Care of Deland, FL where she worked until she retired. After a short time of being re- tired, Janice became the care taker for her brothers Mike and later Billy.
Janice took delight in being the childcare provider for her grandchild, Eric II from 8 months to 5 years old. Affectionately, she was called “Grammy”.
Janice enjoyed knitting, sewing and swimming. She loved sharing her life experiences and stories with others. One of the fondest memories that she would share, was that of listening to her first grandchild, Ariel, singing Edelweiss as a small toddler.
In 2013, Janice came out of retirement to work part-time for Pediatric Services of America (PSA), where she provided home health care for a little boy. She referred to him as her ‘special little boy’. She cared for him from 2013 until she became ill in May of 2019. Janice passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 quietly with her son, Eric by her side.
Janice was proceeded in death by her siblings: Michael Ed- ward Berg (Uncle Mike), William Berg Jr. (Uncle Billy) and Pa- tricia (Berg) Shaw (Aunt Patty).
Janice leaves behind her four children: Becky (Teri-Savage) Sledz (Richard), North Carolina; George William “Billy” Teri- Savage IV (Rebecca), Connecticut; Tina Marie (Teri-Savage) Moody (Steve), Oklahoma; and Eric Matthew Teri-Savage (RuNako Mungen), Florida.
Twelve grandchildren: Ariel and Richard II Sledz; George Wil- liam V “Liam” and Delaney Teri-Savage; Samantha, Savannah, Shelby, Sierra, Wyatt and Shepard Moody, Eric Matthew II and Tresten Alexander Teri-Savage and a host of other relatives and friends.
