Obituary for Ian Wanda

Ian Robert Wanda

February 24, 1975 – April 6, 2025

From the moment Ian came into this world, it was love at first sight. Over the years, we shared countless milestones—each one a cherished memory. Yet, it was the everyday moments that brought the greatest joy: simply being together, supporting one another, and sharing in life’s quiet and beautiful rhythms.

Ian was a confidant and a constant. We shared secrets, held space for each other, always stood by one another, and never missed a chance to exchange a warm embrace. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and an enduring sense of belonging.

We hold close the many happy memories: trips and hikes, music (ALWAYS music!), golf cart rides, cookouts, and fireworks—so many fireworks!! Visits to Disney and especially Universal, where Ian proudly went to work each day, are forever etched in our hearts. Ian shared many interests with his father – roller coasters, fireworks, hockey and fishing. They enjoyed bowling, golf and tennis where Ian might have let him win once or twice! Animals held a special place in Ian’s heart, and he always considered pets just as important as any other family member.

Recently, we noticed a pair of Northern Mockingbirds building a nest in our crepe myrtle tree. In their quiet persistence, we find a gentle reminder that life continues, and that beauty still surrounds us—even in loss. The world was undeniably brighter with Ian in it. He deeply loved his family and friends. He was a man of great heart and a loving spirit, remembered always for his kindness and the joy he brought to those around him.

Ian is survived by his loving parents Peter and Sherri Wanda, Aunts and Uncles John & Denise Pagnotta, John & Maureen Sisco, Cathy Shewchuk, Jon & Marlene Schade, Cousins Jesse, Shayleen, Tyler and nieces and nephews Brianna, John, Andrew and Anthony. Ian is predeceased by his Grandparents and Uncles Michael and Johnny Wanda.

Drive safe… love you… see you in the morning.
