Eloise Engler of Winter Springs, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2025. Eloise was born in Coudersport, Pennsylvania, on December 5, 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; her parents, DeWitt and Gertrude Huntington; and her brothers, DeWitt and Earl.
She is survived by her five children: Joan Foster (husband Jim), Jan Miller (husband Dale), Jennifer Hassel (husband Scott), Keith Engler, and Judi Thornton. She is also survived by her sister, Janet Newcomer, of Mountain City, Tennessee. Eloise was blessed with nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren who loved her deeply.
She was an active member of Orlando Bible Church for many years. She met her husband there, and they were married in 1961. Together, they opened their home to many friends and family—some found refuge there, and others discovered a place where laughter, games, and good food were always plentiful.
She was both a teacher and a businesswoman. Her love for education began as a Sunday School teacher and through her work with Child Evangelism Fellowship. She later taught at Central Florida Christian School and also homeschooled her children for a time. Her desire for learning inspired her to return to college and earn a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at the age of 58.
Her passion for business led her to pursue several professional endeavors throughout the years, including Prestige Interiors, as well as building organizations with Forever Living Products, Bemer, and Enagic USA.
She loved spending time with friends of all ages, whether playing card games late into the night or enjoying tennis. Above all else, she treasured her relationship with the Lord. As a devoted mother, teacher, personal cheerleader, and family baker, she will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m. in the annex room at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 3838 Howell Branch Road, Winter Park, FL 32792.
