Obituary for Deborah Dorton
It is with an extreme broken heart that we announce the passing of Debbie Dorton, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who was taken way too soon due to COVID-19 Pneumonia on Friday, May 14, 2021 in Altamonte Springs, Florida.
Debbie was born in Brady, TX to Joseph and Wanda Rentfrew on July 21, 1945. She moved to Detroit, MI at an early age and attended Clawson High School where she met the love of her life, Tom Dorton. They were married on July 30, 1965.
Debbie always had a zest for life. Anyone who knew her knew that she loved to entertain family and friends, those friends of course then became family. She was sincere, compassionate and always saw the good in everyone she met.
Debbie was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary serving as Seagant at Arms and chaired a number of committees at Old Glory Unit 183. You could always find her attending district and department conventions and functions supporting her Auxiliary sisters in any way she knew how.
She is survived by her husband, Tom, daughters, Patsy & Penny (Scott) , Brothers Bob & Ron, Sister Joann (Dave) grandchildren, Brittany & Joey, and granddogs, Kooper & Saint.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 5:00 pm at The American Legion Old Glory Post 183 located at 2706 Wells Avenue, Fern Park, FL 32730.
