Daniel C. Lancaster, 87, went to his heavenly home on
June 14, 2025. Dan was born on October 6, 1937 to
Margaret and Virgil Lancaster in Rutland, Vermont. He
joined the United States Air Force in 1960, where he
served as a draftsman. While in the Air Force, he served
in Korea and in the Philippines. Dan retired from the Air
Force in 1980 as a Chief Master Sargent and moved his
family to Winter Springs, FL. He then worked for Martin
Marietta for 10 years as a designer/engineer. After Dan
left Martin Marietta, he spent some time flying blimps in
indoor arenas and working at Bob’s Hobby Shop. In
2000, Dan got a job as a Skipper/Tour Guide for the
Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour. He spent over 20 years
giving tours, sharing his sense of humor to all who would
listen —(they were on a boat, they had to listen lol).
Dan was an avid hobbiest. His passion was building
radio controlled airplanes. He spent many days buiding
and flying his planes. He loved to share his knowledge of
his hobby with others, especially his sons and
grandchildren.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and
Margaret Lancaster, and his brother, Jim Lancaster.
Dan leaves behind his devoted wife of 64 years, Grace
Lancaster, his two sons, David Lancaster, Frederick
Lancaster (Dawn), two granddaughters, Crystal Lancaster,
Jennifer Kearse (Solomon), two grandsons, Timothy
Lancaster (Linda), Dylan Lancaster, and two great
grandchildren, Amiyah Kearse and Carter Kearse. He
also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Dan
will be missed immensely by his family.
A Celebration Of Dan’s Life will be held on July 19, 2025
