Obituary for Christopher Michael Fraley
Christopher Michael Fraley, loving father, son, brother, and uncle, left this world way too soon. Born January 2, 1973 to Gaylen and Margie Fraley, formerly of Valparaiso, Indiana, Chris was the loving firstborn son. He was followed by a sister Andrea, and a brother Scott. He was a wonderful brother, and was responsible for his siblings' love of music. Chris loved sports, and was a star player of the basketball team, as well as goalie for the soccer team at Lowell Baptist, where he would graduate in 1991.
After the family moved to Florida in 1992, Chris became a lifelong Floridian. He would go on to marry Karen (Bova) Fraley, who he would have 3 children with. Chris adored his children, and even though the marriage dissolved, he and Karen co-parented their amazing
children together. Alyssa, Cassie, and Christopher are loving, successful adults, and Chris was extremely proud of them. Chris shared his love of music with his kids as well. He went to many concerts with them over the years.
Chris was very successful in his business life, and had many lifelong friends because of his way of dealing with the people in his life. He was the beloved "Boss Man" to many. Chris had many friends as well, and kept everyone entertained daily on his social media with his inappropriate memes that he seemed to have a knack for finding.
Chris was an avid sports fan. He had a different team's jersey for every day of the year. He especially loved his Chicago sports teams, having never wavered since childhood.
Chris fought a long and courageous battle with colon cancer, and finally completed his journey peacefully on April 4, 2022. Chris was an advocate for screenings and cancer awareness. Chris never complained, and was responsible (through his story and advocacy) for many people getting tested, and catching their own cancer early. If you are reading this, and something doesn't feel right to you, or you are having symptoms at all, please do as Chris wanted and get screened.
Chris is survived by his parents Gaylen and Margie (nee Pester) Fraley of Overland Park, KS, sister Andrea (Shelby) Kiewel of Eudora, KS, brother Scott (Anna) Fraley of Olathe, KS, children Alyssa (Alex) Fraley-Morris of Winter Springs, FL, Cassie Fraley of Winter Springs, FL, and Christopher Fraley of Winter Springs, FL, as well as several nieces and a nephew.
Chris was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, who were waiting for him with open arms.
