Obituary for Cheryl Allen
The family of Cheryl Ellen Allen née Benevides, 67, sadly announce her passing after a three month valiant fight against gastric cancer. Born in Providence, RI, she was a 1972 graduate of Bristol High School. She married her soulmate, Jim, in 1979. They lived in Massachusetts and in 1984, they moved their family to Florida. She retired five years ago, after 19 years at Walmart. She lived in Seminole County, FL for more than 35 years and was a shining light of kindness in her community. She is survived by her husband, of 43 years, James R. Allen, daughter Cheri Greene (Allen), son James R. Allen Jr, sister in laws Nancy Allen and Linda Hayes, niece Brianna Hayes, son in law Marcus, daughter in law Mindy, grandchildren Ariel, Brett and Addison, cousins Beverly Ward (MA) Gail, Anthony, Mark & John Benevides (RI). And her cat, Luna.
She was kind to everyone she met and had the most infectious laugh. Her family was her pride and joy. She would always say, “Family does for family” and also, “Tomorrow will be a better day”. She will be missed everyday, forever.
