
Obituary for Betty Pounds
Betty “Nanny” Jo Pounds, 86, of Orlando, Fla., passed away peacefully at home on Monday,
November 22, 2021.
Betty was born on March 11, 1935, in Knoxville, Tenn., to John and Nellie Shirk. She raised two
children, Clifford and Betty, and married the love of her life, Jackie Pounds.
Betty was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—and loved nothing
more than spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by those she left behind.
She is survived by her husband, Jackie Pounds of Orlando, Fla.; daughter, Betty (Stan) Kiejko
of Orlando, Fla.; son, Clifford (Peggy Palfy) Perry of Orlando, Fla.; daughter Joy Hochreiter of
Ocala, Fla.; and brother James (Shirly) Shirk of Rockwood, Tenn.
Betty is also survived by 12 grandchildren: Stanley (Stacy) Kiejko III of Rockford, Ill.; Tiffany
(Steven) Jones of Titusville, Fla.; Shawn Kiejko of Orlando, Fla.; Joshua (Agata) Perry of
Orlando, Fla.; Amanda (Jason) Moody of Orlando, Fla.; Kimberly (Richard) Harris of Davenport,
Fla.; and Faith Goltry of Orlando, Fla.—as well as 13 great-grandchildren: Austen and
Mackenzie Moody; Steven and Slade Jones; Shaelyn Rowan; Madison and Baily Kiejko;
Jordynn Curenton; Julia Radkowski; Filip Perry; and Gabriel, Lilith, and Zinnia Harris. As well as
many nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Rondi Perry; sisters, Nannie Sue Harvey
and Voila Perry; brothers, Roy and Tony Shirk; and parents John and Nellie Shirk.
