Obituary for Alma Iris Urgell Byron

Alma Iris Urgell Byron, 80, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2022, at UCF Medical Center – Lake Nona Hospital in Orlando, FL. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 15, 1942, to Miguel Urgell De Jesus and Maria del Pilar Byron Biascoechea. She was a 1961 graduate of La Immaculada and attended Secretarial school after graduation. She was employed and retired from the Power Company of Puerto Rico (A.E.E.). After retiring and moving to Orlando, FL in 1991, she enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, knitting, history, going to Disney, and travelling with family. She is survived by her husband Carlos Juan Sanchez Rohena, two sons, Jorge Javier Salgado Urgell (Johanna) and Juan Carlos Sanchez Urgell (Scott). Also survived by two sisters, Maria del Pilar “Mappy” Urgell and Dolores del Carmen “Lola” Urgell, along with several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
